Weekend Report
This weekend was relatively tame compared to how busy I normally keep myself in terms of FFXI. Friday night we did Jailer of Love with good results. While we still kill much slower than I would like the number of deaths was kept relatively low except when a melee would pull hate and Love would use an ability or -ga spell on the melee. I died once. That made me sad. Shortie ended up earning his Novio earring. The Novia organ went to the bank and I ended up holding it somehow.
The weekend Salvage was both disappointing and rewarding. I could not get enough people to do Salvage on Friday night from my group, so I ended up asking friends. Despite my lotting rules being defined when we require outside help a handful of people ended up hassling me over the individuals I invited, how items would be lotted on, and the area we did. It is unlikely I will invite the people who hassled me again when I require outside assistance. Over all for better or worse nothing dropped.
Salvage on Saturday had much better results. The second floor Astrologer dropped a Deimos' Curiass. The chariot from Bhaflau Remnants has not given us a level 25 curiass yet, but that is only a matter of time. Celtya has gone all out on buying khroma ore. I checked the going price for the ore and learned that it is going for almost double what I paid for mine two weeks ago. I guess demand is getting high enough. No Salvage on Sunday.
I ended up skipping Dynamis on Sunday to do some Assaults and hopefully do a Salvage (which did not happen). On the Nyzul side of Assaults, Nivlakian completed another fifteen floors. After three Nyzuls we finished Operation Black Pearl or whatever the Second Lieutenant Lebros Assault is. Finally done all the missions again! Ready for an update.

New Goal
A long time ago I finished my reason to continue leading and participating in Limbus. With the Nasheira armour set complete there was nothing left that I really wanted, but that has changed. Over the past two weeks I have decided to start leveling dark knight and some Homam is great for dark knight. My goal is now to get dark knight to 75 as quickly as possible, so I can lot on Homam from Omega.
Because I have only missed a small handful of Limbus runs compared to everyone else who comes with me I have a significant store of points. I am in second place despite spending fifty points on Nasheira. When I am able to lot on items for my dark knight I should be able to lot one or more item from each Omega in a row and quickly equip myself in a set of shiny red armour.
Over the weekend I managed to get thirteen levels for dark knight, but now I have to suffer through eight slow levels of Gustav Tunnels and Newton Movalpolos until I am able to move smoothly through ten levels or so of Bibiki Bay. Another problem with dark knight is that I cannot keep up with my combat skills in scythe and great sword. Since level 37 I have not seen my great sword capped once and that is the only weapon I am using. I am so far behind with my scythe that I do not think I'll be able to catch up with it any time soon.

Nyzul Isle Assault Orders
Since the first week of the release of Treasures of Aht Urhgan my static and I have been doing Assault regularly. Almost every week we have done seven Assaults consitently except when someone forgets to get an early tag or doesn't show up for whatever reason. The staic started with six of us Suiram, Nivlakian, myself, Alina, Reaper, and Mmaximus, but since the release Alina, Reaper and Mmaximus have all quit. The static ended up being reduced to the three of us. We continued pushing through the various Assaults with only minor snags throughout our acsension of the ranks. Alina has since come back and does some Assaults with us again, but I no longer consider him part of our static.
Our original goal was to complete every Assault in each area as quickly as possible after an update. In the final days of our six man static some of us had to repeat difficult Assaults to get the rest of the group wins. This annoyed me to no end. We had all agreed to come on time and prepared for our set Assault time. In the end for better or worse they left leaving only the three of us. Suiram, Nivlakian and myself continued repeatable Assaults to accumulate points for Salvage and in hopes of obtaining the better items from ??? that we get when we win.
When Nyzul was released awhile back our priorities changed. While we still do not know what the point is our Nyzul goal is to get our regulars to floor 100 and obtain their key item for winning. We do Nyzul three times a week, so ascending the floors is relatively slow, but we need a balance with Red Versus Blue to ensure we always have a good supply of Assault points for Salvage. Suiram and I are the first of our group to earn the Runic Key for completing floor 100. Nivlakian is half way there.
The others in my Nyzul group take lesser priority than the three of us in my view. While I am greatful they are helping us and I want to help them all obtain their Runic Key if something happened tomorrow that forced us to leave them behind I would not feel bad. Many people have said they would be reliable and show up on time, but have resulted in being unreliable. I am tired of being let down. I am confident that the individuals who currently come with us will continue to be reliable, so three hundred and fifty floors to go?
While most groups that do Nyzul Isle Assault focus on farming the five bosses we are focusing on the key item in hopes that we will be given access to wonderful and fantastic loot when the reason behind the key item is revealed. When the new area, unlocked by the Runic Key, comes out and I get my non-rare/ex Galka only defending ring we'll see who is laughing.

Khroma Kollection Komplete
After two weeks of heavy auction house camping I finally achieved my goal obtaining a stack of imperial wootz ingots. I am now all ready earn my Morrigan's Robe. All I need is a Macha's Coat. Three to four Salvages coming up in the next few days. Heres hoping we do many Arrapago Remnants and earn my coat. I think I deserve it!
After thinking about it I have decide to start working on the additional materials for my upgrades. Bloodwood can't be common because it is an Aht Urhgan material and not used in many receipes. Maybe I'll go lumberjacking.

Weekend Report
I had a very busy FFXI weekend that provided great results in Salvage, lots of experience on my warrior, and an asortment of other useful stuff. Friday night we did gods in Tu'lia. Unfortunetly nothing good dropped. I've been looking for a Genbu shield for a few weeks now, but it doesn't seem to want to drop. Other than that we did the other three and nothing good dropped.
Salvage followed gods and turned out to be great. Unfortunetly the treasure hunters and astrologers failed to drop anything and we almost wiped to the soulflayer for nothing! The archaic chariot made it all up though. The fight went mostly smooth and we ended up getting Hikazu Hakama and Freya's Ledelsens! Fortunetly neither went to waste. Backbone, who got the hakama, is the only regular person who attends additional runs regularly with Usukane as his selected set, so we do not have to kill the chariot as often now. Hopefully this will free up more time to kill the soulflayer, bhoot, and try and figure out how to spawn the sixth floor treasure hunters.
After Salvage I went exping with mostly linkshell members and stayed up way too late for exp, but I got a few merits out of it. I think our highest chain was sixty or so. The colibri camps were taken, so we suffered in Bhaflau Thickets on mamool and puks.
Saturday we ended up doing Temenos Central 3 to finish off a set of chips for Ultima. This was boring, but fast to make up for it. Later in the night I did Bahamut 2 with Kaboom. I haven't done an event with Kaboom in a long time, so it was nice to do Bahamut again, but unfortunetly we didn't make any money. The drops were very bad.
Kaboom was slow to start Bahamut. We were suppose to start at 8:00pm est and I had Salvage scheduled for 9:30pm est. This should have been more than enough time to finish Bahamut and be ready for Salvage. Unsurprisingly Kaboom was slow to start and we didn't finish until after 10:15pm est, delaying Salvage. After waiting for some people to get ready for Salvage we entered and everything went fine until we got to the soulflayer. I forgot to bring someone who can stun, and a blizzaga got off despite people have tp to stun. Between that and two people not paying attention to me when I give them an order the rest of the run went very sloppy.
This isn't the first time either of them have ignored or questioned my orders during Salvage. This will drop them on priority for cells until I require them to tank again. We'll see if they are capable of that in a few weeks or months.
Sunday was focused on gaining another fifteen floors for Nivlakian in Nyzul Isle Assault. Fafnir was on floor forty, but failed to drop anything for us. We also did our second last Second Lieutenant Assault. Only the Lebros one left now...
A few hours later more Salvage! Soulflayer dropped Macha's Crown for Nachtskye. I wanted the crown, but this puts me in first place for Macha's Coat!

Marduk's Dastanas
Thursday is my regular Salvage day. This is the day that I schedule two Salvage attempts and give the largest amount of points to the members of my group. I have high expectations of the group. I want them to come regularly and on time. It is important they are on time and active so we are able to quickly enter and finish, hopefully with great results.
Today four or five damage were missing and they messed up my plans to do two Silver Sea Remnants boss runs, so we ended up going to Arrapago Remnants for our first run and we would decide where to go after for the second. I ended up bringing three monks with us and that turned out to be overkill, so instead of doing damage I decided I would be the puller. This turned out to be a great idea. I think it turned out to be our most efficent run so far because I was able to keep a steady flow of mobs most of the time.
The four Qiqrin and the soulflayer ended up being pretty disappointing with no drops for us, but then we got to the Archaic Chariot. I opened the door to spawn the mob and decided not to go back because I was naked, so I didn't get to see the fight. No one died and the fight went well. In the end we got Shayanna her Ea's Dastanas to match her Enlil's Kolluks!
With the chariot dead we rushed to Silver Sea Remnants with the goal of finishing Shayanna's gloves. Relatively efficently we made our way to the third floor and spawned the Gyroscopic Gear. It died with no problem. While we may not have earned the level thirty five item from it we did get Anu's Gages for Shayanna. Our first completed piece! Well, almost complete there wasn't enough bloodwood lumber on auction when we finished.
After killing a few more mobs we made our way to Long Armed Chariot. I wasn't too confident about this one because when I first did Salvage way back when this thing rocked us over and over. But we were better equipped and prepared this time. Over all the fight went well with only a few deaths compared to what I expected. I was afraid we would have to zombie it or would run out of time and lose. We ended up winning with ninety seconds to spare. Drops weren't great, but we won on our first try!
I forgot to take pictures, so just text today. I can't wait to see Shayanna's Marduk's Dastanas!

Khroma Ore Countdown
With my recent urge to press my Salvage team into farming more and more items I have started my collection of materials for upgrading my Salvage armour. The only item I need to put effort into collecting is a dozen imperial wootz ingots. These things are a real pain to obtain. Two khroma ores are needed for each ingot and they are not common. The only method to obtaining them seems to be ISNM and mining in Halvung. From all reports they are very rare while mining and people do not do ISNM nearly as much as I would like.
I have been competing with many other players to obtain my two dozen khroma ores. Normally I can manage one or two a day, but this is slow. Japanese players seem to do ISNM while I am sleeping or at work. If I'm at work I sometimes watch people lot them the ore on ffxiah.com. I try to wake up early to claim one or two before someone else does, but it has been slow going. The only positive to my low ingot count is I do not have a Macha's coat. There is no rush to obtain ore since I can't upgrade it and be awesome looking.
Nine of twenty four ores!

Sky High
Normally I stay as far away from Tu'lia as possible. For weeks, with a few exceptions, I have not come to farming sky for a handful of reasons. Numbers for farming have been dwindling to the point of cancelling farming once or twice in the linkshell, so for the past two weeks I've been coming to farming to try and help since I have decided I want an item I've passed in the past. Normally I only stay for two hours or so. We start late and I need to sleep for work.
Last week we spent the entire time I was at farming hanging outside Ru'Avitau waiting for Despot to spawn. Our competition was gilsellers. Not long before I had to go the gilsellers pulled Despot and we ended up spending the rest of the time I was on split between other mobs. This kind of stuff is depressing and probably explains the dwindling attendance.
This week we had Tu'lia to ourselves. While some linkshell did kill certain mobs shortly before we got there Despot was free. SquareEnix apparenly dealt with this group of gilsellers and we are free to earn our stones and gems without competition. I only stayed two hours and we didn't accomplish much while waiting for mob spawn timers and people disconnecting, but it was much more enjoyable than the last few times I came to farming.
So, I'll be coming to more farming until I get to the point where I would rather sleep than suffer through the boredom. Hopefully people get their crap so we can stop farming... ha...

Safe to Reraise
My last attempt at FFXI blogging was a failure because I couldn't keep up interest in posting regularly but when I did post I was prolific. Going to try writing from a different angle this time and see how it goes.
